Attendance
It is each diver’s responsibility to notify the Head Coach if a practice will be missed for any reason. Parent/guardian assistance is greatly appreciated in keeping the dive staff informed about your diver’s attendance, which helps when planning and assessing skill development.
Family Mailboxes
Each family will have a folder in the boxes stored in the guard office. During practice, the mailboxes are placed on a table. Please check your mailbox regularly for team updates, messages and meet ribbons! Coaches and Team Reps also have a Coaches Notebook for receiving messages. Leave notes and messages including your email address as well as your full name and phone number if a response is warranted.
Inclement Weather
Divers should plan to be at practice on time no matter what the current or predicted weather conditions. If the pool is open, practice will be held. If there is thunder or lightening, the pool will close and reopen according to Lakeview Swim Club guidelines. We will post any change in practices as soon as possible in our closed Facebook group and an email will be sent whenever possible to alert team members of cancelled or postponed practices.
The decision to close the pool is made solely by the coaches/team reps or pool managers following procedures specified by the pool management company (Atlantic). Factors may result in unexpected pool closings including equipment breakdown, power failure, water temperature, thunder, lightening, and bodily fluid accident. The most common is thunder. If there is rain we will dive; if there is thunder we will not.
If the pool (home or away) is closed, we wait there for it to open. If lightening occurs, divers should wait in cars until a decision has been made by the Team Reps for a delay, postponement, or cancellation. Every effort will be made to conduct meets on the scheduled day. Delays can last up to 90 minutes. In some cases specific events will have to be cancelled, but this is preferable to trying to reschedule the entire meet.
