Ashley Weldon is excited to take on the role of Lakeview’s Head Coach for her sixth summer! She looks forward to establishing deeper bonds with Lakeview swimmers and families; upholding long-held traditions and building new ones with the team; and creating a fun, positive, and instructional swimming experience for all. Her goals for the season are aligned with the team’s vision: to complete an NVSL “A” meet with no DQ’s, to win the Spirit Award in the team's division, and to have as many swimmers as possible legal in all four strokes.
Ashley began her swimming career on the Fairfax Station Flyers Mini Team in 2002. Her love for swimming quickly grew, inspiring her to soon join NCAP and the Mason Makos Swim Team for year-round competitive swim; she would alternate training in these two programs throughout her childhood. During her high school career, she swam on Robinson Secondary School’s Varsity Swim Team and the Mason Makos Senior Team. In 2016, she received the Joan Olson Scholarship Award from the NVSL for showing good sportsmanship. Throughout college, she swam on the University of Virginia’s club team. From 2017- 2019, she served as the Assistant Coach to the Fairfax Station Flyers Swim Team located in Fairfax Station, VA.
In 2020, Ashley graduated with an English and Foreign Affairs Double Major from UVA, and Ashley finished her studies in May of 2021 with a Master of Teaching in Secondary English Education. Ashley is a high school English teacher at Robinson Secondary School. During the 2023-2024 school year, she was awarded Robinson's Outstanding New Teacher. She currently serves as a Junior Blue and Senior Prep/Senior coach on Tuesday's and Thursday's for the Mason Mako Swim Team and the Head Coach of Lakeview's Winter Swim Program.
Cate just finished her freshman year at Dickinson College where she played on the women's soccer team. She began swimming (and diving) for Lakeview at the age of 8 after moving from Jacksonville, FL where she began competing in summer swim at the age of 5. Cate was a volunteer coach with the Mighty Marlins in 2021, junior coach in 2022-2025, and has also coached Lakeview winter swim. Cate is looking forward to working with her younger teammates to be the best they can be both in and out of the pool while having a lot of fun!
Abby Meehan just completed her freshman year at the University of Tennessee. She was a member of the Lakeview Swim Team for six years before graduating from Robinson Secondary School. Her favorite team memories are having Friday night potluck dinners with the team and decorating the parking lot with chalk! This is her fourth year coaching at Lakeview, and she is so excited for this season!
Alli Nemets is currently a junior at Robinson Secondary School. She swims competitively for the Lakeview Marlins over the summer and the Mason Makos year-round. Alli is also on the Varsity Swim and Dive team. Her favorite stroke is breaststroke. Alli’s coaching experience includes: two summers with Mighty Marlins, two years with Swim With Beth, three summers with Cardinal Aquatics, as well as the winter swim program for Lakeview. This will be Alli's third year as a Junior Coach with the Marlins. She loves coaching because she is able to help young swimmers improve their stroke and technique, and foster their love for swimming. In addition to swimming, Alli plays volleyball on the Robinson Varsity team as well as a club team. Alli is excited to be coaching for Lakeview this summer!
Coach Teague is currently a junior at Robinson. He has been swimming with the Lakeview Marlins since he was 5 years old! Teague's coaching experience includes volunteering with the Mighty Marlins, as well as coaching with the Swim with Beth, Cardinal Aquatics, and the Lakeview winter program. This will be Teague's third year as a Junior Coach at Lakeview. At Robinson, he ran winter track and played boys lacrosse. He enjoys sharing his passion for swim and helping others improve their skills. He is excited for the season!
Olivia Kucharski is currently a junior at Robinson Secondary School. She has been a Mighty Marlin coach for the past few summers and is very excited for the new season. She has been swimming with the Marlins since she was 5 years old and her favorite events are relays and breaststroke. Outside of swimming she enjoys playing Robinson and club volleyball and spending time with friends and family. She looks forward to Friday night pep rally's and dinners with the team and carrying on the team spirit!
Olivia Meehan has been a member of the Lakeview Swim Team for seven years. She is a junior at Robinson Secondary School, where she plays on both the varsity field hockey and varsity lacrosse teams. Outside of school, Olivia loves to hang out with her friends and play club sports. Her favorite team memories are meeting her new swim buddy and having Friday night potluck dinners with the team! This is her fifth year coaching Mighty Marlins, and she is so excited for this season!
